SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND, California (Oct. 12, 2022) – Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 1st Class Vincent Meza, assigned to the “Eightballers” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 8, surveys a landing site on San Clemente Island. During Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Pacific (HSCWSP) exercise PHOENIX RESCUE 23-1, squadrons from Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific (HSCWP), Marine Air Group (MAG) 39 and 26th Weapons Squadron conducted maritime CSAR training aimed at improving CSAR capabilities.
