The best-looking bitches were byBelvoir Ragman, Grafton sires, Lord Fitzhardingesand the Hey thorp. There were none so massive inthe kennel as the old Pilgrim type but many niceshort-legged stuffy bitches that looked like bouncingup and down the stiff hills. Collectively they werea rare hard-hunting lot with a good cry, showingthe best of sport to a keen competitive field. OldDan Reid manages the kennel, and Percy Firr, anephew of the great Tom Firr, turns hounds toMr Scott, season 1912-13 being a record one withthe last fox killed on the hills April 24th totalling55 §11 ffi S. 5 WESTERN MIDLANDS & SOUTH WALES HUNTS 177 Mr Scott had the whole kennel passed before usin review, drawing them in couples. Dorcas, 1910, by Milton Donovan, 05—Holderness Scornful, 01, a good big-framed houndand well furnished. Gauntlett, 1910, by BelvoirRagman, 06—Gaily, 06, was top of her entry andis top in the kennel for size, quality, and , 1910, by Helpmate, 07—Mabel, 03, secondin her entry, is another beautiful type in thekennel, that can lead them in the field.
