Dirt road closed to the site of the Holuhraun Fissure Eruption, Bardarbunga Volcano, Iceland


August 29, 2014, a fissure eruption occurred in Holuhraun at the northern end of a magma intrusion which had moved progressively north, from the Bardarbunga volcano. Bardarbunga is a stratovolcano located under Vatnajokull, Iceland's most extensive glacier. Picture Date-Sept. 20, 2014
