Was called about two oclock a. pains were light and came on once every ten to fifteenminutes, till about one oclock p. m., then the uterus being welldilated, I ordered a full dose of fluid extract of ergot, to increasethe force of the pains. 508 Crandall, a Case of Triplets. [May, No. 1 was born at half past one, with the natural head presen-tation. I ruptured the sac and a moderate amount of amnioticfluid escaped. The child was in appearance about seven and onehalf months poorly nourished ; bones of the skull soft, and didnot show much vitality, never cried or took a full inspiration,only gasped a few times. No. 3, as you will see in the cut, was delivered by crowdingup the breech and grasping the feet. I delivered it in about fifteenminutes after the first.
