Here we see an abandoned boathouse by Radley Lakes - Thrupp Lake to be specific. These lakes were originally gravel pits but filled with water after being abandoned, They went on to become havens for local birds and wildlife. When a predatory power company wanted to fill some with ash, local and national environmental groups ran a successful campaign to stop this heinous idea in its tracks. Thrupp Lake - the one shown in this image - is now managed as a community nature and recreational site by the Earth !
