The accomipanxins: illustrations are views taken at the large violet grow- ing plant of J. Vonder Linden at Rhinebeck, N. Y. One view shows his new range of four houses which are also devoted to double violets. One shows Mr. Vonder Linden spraying in one of his larger houses: the other view shows how he grinds manure for mulching, using his delivery auto for the power plant to run the spike cyl- inder. This he finds a speedy way to grind manure, putting it in the best of shape for mulching. About forty tons ground up fine is used for the en- tire plant. This year he has planted 75,000 double violet plants, which he says are the best he has ever had at this time of the year. He is the largest grower of double violets in the Hudson River valley section, and as far as we know in this country. He has plans drawn for a large additional plant to be built in the near future with all modern improvements. Visitors are welcome at his establishment at all times. Two Imported Plant Diseases.
