A sabre M 1786/1796 for Russian light cavalry Single-edged blade with fullers on both sides. The obverse etched with the cypher "E II" for Catherine the Great. On blade assayer's stamp. Iron knuckle-bow hilt bound with wire, leather-covered grip (leather partially damaged). Blade somewhat stained. Length 103 cm. Cf.
