(a German missionary at Jerusa-lem) in 1868. The stone is of black231 DIB DIB basalt, 3 feet 8£ inches high, 2 feet 3£inches wide, and 1 foot inchesthick. It has 34 lines of Hebrew-Phoe-nician writing, and contains a most re-markable corroboration of the Scripturehistory in 2 Kgs. 3.
