Sgt. Michael Ciske, a medic with the 409th Area Support Medical Company (ASMC), secures a patient to a gurney for transport by a waiting ambulance at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center in Butlerville, Ind. The 409th ASMC, based in Madison, Wis., was among 75 units who took part in Guardian Response 17, a multi-component training exercise designed to test Army units’ ability to support the Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) in the event of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) catastrophe.
