The hills in Oley and southern Ruscombmanor are slightlymore hornblendic, which resisting the weather better, hasmade their contour bolder and more rugged. Many of thesehills show a considerable magnetic attraction, though I donot consider the region a favorable one for iron ore research. On road N. Crossing into Ruscombmanor township, the rocks becomerather more hornblendic, until in an old tunnel, unsuccess-fully driven for iron ore, on the Little Manatawny, close 2°i GEOL. SURVEY OF PA. 1882. Entering Alsace township, there is an outcrop near s place, up two hundred feet from main road, dippingS. 40° E 70°. All these hills are so worn
