The 1 lahnemannian Med-ical Institute was organized shortly after the opening of the Homoeopathic Medical College ofPennsylvania, during the session of [849-50. Its original name was the Williamsonian Institute, but by therequest of Dr. Walter Williamson, in whose honor the name was originally bestowed, it was changed in [854to the present appellation which it has ever since held.
