The ancient city, famous for its intact Roman walls, falls along the Camino Primitivo. This less-traveled route of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage runs southwest from the Asturian capital of Oviedo, eventually joining the Camino Frances and ending in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia.
