Two military buildings of the Swedish government were preserved in Wismar: the ‚Zeughaus’ and the ‚Provianthaus’. The ‘Zeughaus’ (arsenal) is considered to be one of the most significant baroque examples of Swedish military architecture in Germany. Two years before the ‘Zeughaus’,and also directly adjacent to the city wall, the ‘Königlich-Schwedische Provianthaus’ (royal Swedish supply house) was built in the north-east of the town.
