Mount Tarawera (1111 m) and Lake Tarawera on New Zealand's North Island.
Erupting Mount Tarawera (1111 m) on New Zealand's North Island created at 10 June 1886 the 17 kilometers long Waimangu Volcanic Rift Valley. It is now the youngest geothermal ecosystem with a wide variety of volcanic features like the Lake Tarawera just at the slopes of the volcano.
