Geometric Ancient Greek pottery Trefoil Oinochoe, 750 - 730 BC . Prehistoric Cemetery Grave G II Mycenae. Archaeological site Museum Mycenae. Late Geometric I. Geometric art flourished in the 9th and 8th centuries BC. It was characterized by new motifs, breaking with the representation of the Mycenaean periods: meanders, triangles and other geometrical decoration (hence the name of the style) as distinct from the predominantly circular figures and designs of the earlier Mycenaean style.
