Blockman in managing the new Pedrara MexicanOnyx Company, until July 1, 1911, at which time the old organization disposedof its quarry properties, Mr. Lea being chosen by the new company, known asthe Pedrara Onyx Company, as its vice president and general manager. Thebusiness under the policies formulated by Mr. Lea has more than doubled involume since he assumed its active management. The company ships its products. FREDERICK J. In May, 1897, in Oakland, California, occurred the marriage of Mr. Lea andMiss Martha G. Ludlow. His political allegiance is given to the republicanparty and even aside from politics he is a public-spirited citizen, entering heartilyinto every measure and movement for the welfare and upbuilding of the cityof which he is now a resident. He is a prominent member of the Chamber ofCommerce, and outside his more personal business interests his most effectivework has been in connection with the various projects fostered and promoted bythat body.
