The Coaches Workshop educates approximately 50 collegiate coaches from across the nation about essential Marine Corps leadership skills and programs they can share with their student athletes based on first-hand experiences. Avalos is the head volleyball coach at Med-American Christian University and a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), an organization that educates volleyball coaches, recognizes elite players and coaches, and promotes volleyball competitions and networking opportunities for volleyball memebers. The Marine Corps partners with AVCA to inspire coaches via Marine Corps leadership styles and characteristics, creating brand advocates among the organization's key influencers.
