A Logset Harvester working on a clear-fell site on Forestry Commission Wales land. The harvester is computerised and semi-automated. The sophisticated hydraulic harvester head cuts the tree, strips the branches and cuts the timber into specified lengths. A proportion of the logs will be go to local saw-mills and the rest will be supplied as biomass to the Western Wood Energy plant at Port Talbot.
