Hadrian's Wall and the associated long distance footpath runs up and over Peel Crag naer Steel Rigg in Northumberland. This quartz dolerite crag situated under Hadrian's Wall is a few miles from Hexham and roughly halfway between Newcastle & Carlisle is easily accessed from Steel Rigg and is a popular venue for local climbers.
