Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a famous landmark in Budapest and is s suspension bridge that spans the River Danube connecting Buda (in the west) and Pest (in the east). The bridge was designed by the English civil engineer William Tierney Clark in 1839. Built under management of Scottish engineer Adam Clark. It opened in 1849 as the first bridge across the Danube in the Hungarian capital. Photograph looking northwards toward the Hungarian Parliament Bulding on the Pest side of the river.
