Iguanodon and Hylaeosaurus. 19th-century government wall poster (circa 1862) by British artist Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807-1894). Two Iguanodon

Iguanodon and Hylaeosaurus. 19th-century government wall poster (circa 1862) by British artist Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins (1807-1894). Two Iguanodon dinosaurs (upper left and lower centre, one with paw on a cycad plant) and a Hylaeosaurus dinosaur (lower right). These models were installed in the world's first dinosaur park, which opened at Crystal Palace Park, London, UK, in 1854. They were based on 19th-century fossil discoveries and knowledge, and the reconstructions include some inaccuracies. Iguanodon lived about 120 million years ago, and Hylaeosaurus about 136 million years ago, both in the Early Cretaceous period.
