Looking southwards to Cafn Enlli and Bardsey Island lighthouse from Bardsey Mountain, bardsey Island, Wales
Henllwyn bay & lighthouse at the south end of Bardsey Island. The Lighthouse and buildings were designed by Joseph Nelson and completed 1821. The tower is square and painted red and white. A distinctive landmark, but like all lighthouses the light attracts migrating birds at night. Spotlights and pools have been constructed to guide them safely to land rather than flying into the windows.
