A teacher in white robes and a black shawl, sitting on a raised platform, belongs to the sect of the Jain religion called White-Clad (Shvetambara). He delivers a sermon to a family in a private gathering. Men, women, and children are part of the audience, which is arranged according to gender. Seated next to the teacher are three Shvetambara monks wearing white robes.
