A summary of ourposition as given inthe 1904 Year Bookshows that we have143 Churches, 13Mission stations,8,799 members, 383ministers, 150 Sun-day schools, 27,729 scholars, 3,089 teachers and officers,with property valued at ^209,477, on which there is adebt of ,£, most of the property having been erectedduring the last 30 JAMES GREENHALGH. 1799-1S77. ^4 OUR ANNUAL ASSEMBLY. The Annual Meetings of the past few years have affordedmuch evidence of the growing friendliness among the FreeChurches. For a number of years representatives of theWesleyan Reform Union have sat in the meetings and aninterchange of pulpits has been maintained. Deputationsfrom local Free Church Councils have welcomed the AnnualMeetings to the various towns in which it has met. and lastyear a deputation was received from the Wesleyan Con-ference. The opening of Free Church pulpits to ourministers has also been a feature of recent Annual Meetings,and has given evidence of a growing appreciation of ourministry and denominational work.
