Sprawler moth


Sprawler moth (Asteroscopus sphinx), a member of the family Noctuidae. It is usually on the wing during September to November. This moth usually inhabits woodlands, hedges parks and gardens. It is common throughout much of western and central Europe and Asia minor. The larval food plants are a range of deciduous trees including oak. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in November.
