Υπήρχαν περίπου Εβραίοι που ζούσαν στη Θεσσαλονίκη κατά την έναρξη του Β' Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου, και περίπου από αυτούς έχασαν τη ζωή τους στο στρατόπεδο συγκέντρωσης του Άουσβιτς, η Ελλάδα τιμά επίσημα το Ολοκαύτωμα κάθε 27 Ιανουαρίου.
