It can be pro-pagated by severing the stem just belowthe uppermost pseudo-bulb, and treatingthe latter as an independent plant. The genus was dedicated by Dr. Lindleyto the late Countess of Burlington, a ladyof whom it is needless to say more, thanthat the admirable species which bear hername furnish a peculiarly significant me-morial of her character; and that bothwill be cherished after the present genera-tion has passed
