Supposing vein number 4 torise to the surface at that point on the estate of A, adjoining the estateof B which lies towards d; it is apparent that A would find only a pointof the vein on his land, and that it would be useless to search in thedirection of 6 for it, since the dip of the veins is sufficient to show thatnone exists there. But on the estate of B, though no mineral came tothe surface, still the dip of that which exists on the estate of A would.
