GOLDEN TOM THUMB POP CORN. BURPEE'S GOLDEN TOM THUMB. The stalks grow only eighteen inches high, and each stalk produces two or three perfect little ears, only 2 to 2% inches long, completely filled with bright, golden-yellow grains, which, when popped, expand to a large size. The stalks do not stool, and each stalk averages five leaves, which are of an extra dark-green color. In a word, it is a perfect miniature corn, and in our trial grounds it appeared as a pigmy among giants. So ornamental is the growth that we are quite sure it will he a feature of many flower gardens. Supply of seed limited ; sold only in sealed packets. Per pkt. 10 cts.; 3 pkts. for 25 cts. MAPLEDALE PROLIFIC. This remarkable variety originated with Prof. E. L. Wetherell, of Daven- port, Iowa, who stated: "I selected on my Mapledale fruit farm, this year, ten stalks with one hundred and twenty-one (121) ears, or an average of twelve ears to the stalk, one stalk having nineteen ; Besides its very prolific character, we are much pleased with the corn in other respects. The stalks grow six feet high, and the ears are all large in size, with grains nearly clear white in color. An average ear measured six and a half inches long, and contained 585 perfect kernels. It pops pure paper white, of fine quality. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.: per quart 45 cts., postpaid. SILVER LACE. It suckers so that a single kernel will produce three to four stalks, making it an exceed- ingly productive variety ; for this reason not more than two kernels should be'allowed to grow in a hill.
