Business in general has been pretty good during the last week. The cloudy weather has kept stock somewhat scarce. The demand has been good, despite the fact that Lent is here. The supply of rosee is a little heav- ier than it has been, and the color is biBtter than ever. Carnations are com- pkratively scarce, and are moving at fairly good prices. The quality is fine and the percentage of splits is small. The demand is unusually heavy. Valley is overabundant. The qual- ity has improved. The demand, how- ever, is light. Sweet peas are coming in more heavily every day and the •qjiality is excellent. Some exceedingly fine Spencers are seen. The stock is njoving freely, and little or none is hpld over from day to day. Spring stock is arriving in fine shape and is moving fairly well. Lilies have be- came more plentiful and are cleaning up well, i Various Notes. Currie Bros. Co., Which recently moved its seed store to 384 East Water street, is moving the flower store from 108 Wisconsin street to the same loca- tion. Henry A. Schimmels, formerly em- ployed by Gust. Eusch & Co., has opened a retail store on Twelfth street, where he is busy putting things in shape. Holton & Hunkel Co. is issuing an advance price list showing the large variety of plants the firm has to offer for Easter trade. William Zimmermann reports that his business during February more than held its own with last year. Miss Irma J
