Allegorical performance with truth and lie; Title page for: Francis White, A Replie to Iesuit Fishers, 1624. To the left of the title is a half-naked woman with book, crown and palm branch in hand, she personifies the clear truth (Veritas Univoca). On the other side a woman with a mask and chameleon, as a personification of the ambiguous lie (Mendacium Aequivocum). At the top a crowned coat of arms between a lion and a unicorn. At the bottom a cartouche with a hand with a fishing net grabs a fishing net from the water, with the motto Piscatoris Rete Habet Ranas.
