Solomon Eagle (real name Solomon 1618–1683 ) preaching and urging sinners to repent during the Great Plague period in London, UK. The coals he was burning was supposed to purify the air around him. He is said to have appeared in a similar guise during the Great Fire of London. Eagle was an eccentric English composer and a Quaker activist who sometimes ran near naked through the city with a burning brazier on his head.
