A recruit from Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, responds to a drill instructor during receiving at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Aug. 15. Recruits are required to follow all instructions from drill instructors throughout the course of training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Hotel Company is scheduled to graduate Nov. 9.
