The berries run seven-eighths and fifteen- sixteenths of an inch in diameter, and are of such handsome appearance that their fruit sold for 10c. per quart, when other varieties were selling for 5c. to 7c. per quart. The quality is very similar and fully equal lo Gregg. In spite of its unusual large size, the fruit is possessed of great firmness and is thus well adapted for standing long shipments. It follows Palmer and Souhegan and precedes Gregg a j-hort time, making it a mid-season variety. The bush is exceedingly healthy and \-igorous, throwing up stout stocky canes, well adapted for sui>- porting their loads of large fruit. It has also shown itself remarkably free from that scourge of its family, anthracnose. Large growers report yields of two and three times ps much per acre as Ohio under same condi- tions, and far ahead of all other varieties.
