This Gaumont Theatre stone frieze is the work of Newbury Abbot Trent, famous sculptor who was a member of the Royal Academy, and depicts the story of film, from its conception, the writing of the scenario, the building of the set and the shooting of the film. This work of art has been put on display in a prominent town centre location near the town centre cinema at Waterdale, more than a decade after it was taken from its original spot.
