History: The supply of National Socialist construction sites by local quarry owners makes the SS aware of the granite deposits in Flossenbuerg. 1938 The construction of the forced labour camp begins. By April 1945, 100,000 prisoners had passed through the camp or one of its nearly 90 satellite camps. Almost a third dies as a result of catastrophic conditions, forced labour, hunger and violence.
