A rare British informational broadsheet with contemporary hand colouring, drawn and engraved by John Emslie and published by James Reynolds in 1849. It shows reconstructions of extinct creatures in their established epocs prior to the creation of man. This crop shows the tertiary system and relies heavily on Cuvier's Paris fossil mammal reconstructions as well as Buckland's famous hyaena cave finds. The sheet was part of a series of popular science broadsheets by Reynolds.
