M101, NGC 5457, Pinwheel Galaxy, Spiral Galaxy
This new image from the Hubble Space Telescope reveals the gigantic Pinwheel Galaxy, one of the best known examples of "grand design spirals", and its supergiant star-forming regions in unprecedented detail. The Pinwheel Galaxy is located 23 million light years away in the constellation Ursa Major.
