Their remarkable dexterity and velocity in get- ting from tree to tree cannot even be judged by the lightning movements they exhibit in the limited space of the com- partment they occupy in the Ape House. In confinement they are very docile, and become greatly attached to those who are attentive to them. The Lar gibbons do.
