Founder of Shingon Buddhism, Kobo Daishi always wanted to cast a bell here, the dream was never created until it was finally completed in the era of his successor, Shinzen Daitoku. The current copper bell was built in 1547 and has a diameter of meters, making it the fourth largest bell in Japan.
