BERKASOVO, SERBIA - OCTOBER 3, 2015: Croatian policeman and NGO Volunteer looking at migrants crossing the Serbia Croatia border in Berkasovo Bapska, on Balkans Route, during Refugee Crisis Picture of a border officer from the Croatian police, joined by a volunteer from an NGO helping refugees looking at migrants at the border point of Berkasovo Bapska, between Croatia and Serbia. This border crossing, near the Serbian City of Sid, was a major transit point duiring the 2015 Refugees Crisis. Also known as the European migrant crisis,this period saw a rising numbers of people arriving in the European Union, travelling overland through Southeast Europe, to seek asylum, as a results of the wars in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
