Tree, to 50 or occasionally 80 ft., usually divided into several stems, with short crooked branches, the lower ones pendent, the upper ones ascending, forming a round-topped head: Ivs. slen- der, flexible, pale bluish green, 8-12 in. long: cones pendent on about 2-in. long stalks, oblong-ovate, light red-brown, 6-10 in. long ; apophysis pyramidal, sharply keeled, flattened at the straight or incurved apex, the lower scales with much recurved apex: seeds % in. long, short- winged.
