This flower is formed of four petals, exactlyalike. The mould should be two and a halfinches wide, and should be a half circle at thetop, sloping gradually towards the base, butnot to a point. The petals should be of a darkcrimson. Thirty rounds of worsted are neces-sary for each petal. The heart is made thus :. Take raw cotton, and make a tight little ballabout the size of a pea; fasten this to the endof a wire nine inches long. Let the top of thislittle cotton ball be larger than the part whereit joins the wire. Cover this cotton with greenpapers, and pass black silk threads, like finenet-work, over the paper. Then fasten theVOL. LXIV.—41 petals round the heart, and cover base andstem with green. NARCISSUS.
