Vars. hybridum, purpilreiun and rtlbruin are live American trade names representing forms with dark purple foli- age, the last-named variety being said to retain its pur- ple color all summer. It is doubtful whether this Is really in the trade. See S. spectabile. S. telepholdes, Michx.
