Annual report of the State Board of Health of the state of Ohio, for the year ending .. . do, a city of about 120,000 inhabitants, at the mouth of theMaumee river, discharges its sewage into the river and into Swan has already been made of the pollution of this creek. Thecity obtains its water supply from the river. The Childrens Home, andseveral club houses and summer resorts, not more than five or six milesabove the water works intake, discharge their sewage into the river, endan-gering, to some degree, the citys water supply. A few miles above thesesources of contamination are the growing towns of Maumee and Perrys-burg. Both places are discussing the question of sewerage, with no otherpractical outlet except the Maumee river. To briefly sum up the results of the years investigation, they showconclusively that both the Sandusky and Maumee rivers are already pol-luted at many places beyond the limit of safety, and that in no place dotheir waters afford a perfectly safe domestic supply.
