SAN ANTONIO – (April 24, 2017) The Sea Services, including crew members from the USS San Antonio (LPD-17) homeported at Naval Station Norfolk along with the “Destroyers” of Navy Band Southwest of San Diego, cruise down the San Antonio Riverwalk at the Texas Cavaliers River Parade held during Fiesta. Each year hundreds of thousands of people line the banks of the San Antonio River to view the parade. More than 40 festively decorated floats sponsored by local community organizations and military installations drifted down the river.
