Ruins of the Episcopal Centre.

Croatia, Solin. Ancient city of Salona. Colonia Martia Ivlia Valeria. It was the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Ruins of the Episcopal Centre. When religious liberty prevailed in 313, this episcopal centre was built. Two basilicas dedicated to the early Christian martyrs were erected in the 5th century, followed by a baptistery and a bishop's palace. This complex of buildings is close to a 3rd century oratory where the early Christians met in secret.
