Polishing the barrel of a five inch gun aboard a Coast Guard-manned assault transport somewhere in the South Pacific, Coast Guardsman Robert H. Holland, gunner's mate first class, of Lewisport, Kentucky, turns on a full grin, expressing the pleasure he gets from caring for the "big fellow." Holland is a pre-war Coast Guardsman and likes the life so well he intends to "stay in" after the shooting stops.
