Seraphinite is a popular name for a variety of clinochlore, a hydrous magnesium iron aluminium silicate. It is a greenish grey stone with a silvery, radiating/plumose structure exhibiting chatoyancy. It is very rare and only found in skarn deposits near Irkutsk in southeastern Siberia. It is popular among rock and mineral collectors.
