Crinan Village and gates to the Crinan Canal in Argyllshire, Scotland
Crinan Canal in Argyllshire, Scotland. A short 9 mile (14 km) waterway with several locks connects the villages of Ardrishaig (in the east) and Crinan (in the west). It allows boats travelling from the Clyde to avoid going around the Kintyre peninsula, which would be a considerably longer journey and more hazardous.
